installing 08 rear into an 01. flange question
i am putting an 08 rear into my 01. The yoke on the 10.5 rear is a round flange typenot a yoke as my 01 is. Whatdo I do? where do i get the flange to put on my current driveshaft so it mates up. The u joint wont fit into the flange. Its a flat circular piece with 4 real 12mm bolts holding it down.

If they're both 10.5 axles, why not swap the flange out? You'd just have to be careful how tight you reinstall it. Do you have a socket for the pinion nut, impact gun?

yes, but i would wrather use a flange. I know it weird but i dont want to remove it if I don't have too. The flange is much shorter then the yoke. I think a flange will go on the end of the driveshaft with out being too long. I have seen some earlier trucks with flanges.
Oh, I would have to buy a yoke anyway. The dana 80 is in my truck i sold it. |
