Cruise control installation.

Hey ! my truck does not have cruise control, how hard would it be to install it, does all it takes is a new steering wheel or could i just install a switch in the dash ?

It is possible to install switches in the dash if you put the correct resistors on the switches. I just installed cruise on toggle switches in my 97 F350. I haven't had a chance to get pics of the project yet. I do have extra resistors. If I get the switches I could solder up another harness.

I got a kit for my van from these guys, worked out really well.

Ford

1999 F350 XLT SC long box, 4X4, 7.3, 6 speed, Magnaflow 4" ss exhaust, ***** techni cooler, 6 position chip, DIY AEM intake, Sky leveling kit, 07 front, 08 rear
2002 E350 EXT van, 7.3, 03 grill
2003 E350 7.3, XLT
2002 F550 7.3 AT37G bucket

F-250's, wonder what is the difference from this 02-04 kit Ford Superduty OEM cruise kit '02-'04 Diesel

That's a bummer. The only differance I can think of is the newer pickups have an cruise indicator light in the gauge cluster.
I'd go to a salvage yard and get a 99 to 01 steering wheel with the buttons in it.

I think for around $200 you can get a nice black leather wrapped steering wheel with cruise buttons from Ford. This was one of the very first upgrades I do on my trucks, leather wrapped steering wheel. It's nice on the hands.

I will probably grab one at the scrapyard for next to nothing just to plug it in and see if it works. i always wanted to fit a grant wheel but if the cruise works by just pluggin a OEM steering well eff the grant hehe !

I just got a reply from the company saying that their 99 F-250 The kit most likely consisted of the wheel ( with switches ) the clock spring assembly and a brake switch shut down to input into the computer for the OEM brake pressure switch that is absent on the non cruise models. Anyone know what is the clock spring assembly ???
