Airbag Code 46, No horn, No Cruise...clock spring?
Just picked up an 02 Excursion this week and the airbag light is on. When you first turn the truck on, it flashes an airbag code 46. I also have no cruise control and no horn. Everything I've read points to two different things:
1) The cruise and horn problem sounds like a clock spring problem 2) The code 46 is some kind of seat belt pretensioner under the seat. Note- I've checked the wiring and connections under the seat for the pretensioner, they all appear to be OK. So what do you think the problem could be? Could the code 46 also be the result of the clock spring? |

yes if the clock spring is broken itll toss airbag lights, take the coloum apart and make sure all is plugged in, usually when they break you can hear noises in the coloum

I got the horn and cruise working. I installed a new clockspring and a new horn. I still have the code 46 though. I checked the connections under the seat again this morning, and even sprayed some electrical contact cleaner in the connections, but that didn't help. Does anyone know how to diagnose this code 46?
