Turbo Porting and Polishing?????
I have ported a lot of heads for our drag cars, so why can't we port the intake side of the Turbo to make it flow more air?
Wouldn't that be cheaper than buying a new ATS ported Housing? I here they aren't that great at their porting anyway????? |

A ported compressor housing is differant from "porting" something...
Here is a picture of a ported housing... compare that to a stock turbo... There is no way to port the housing. You could remove some of the material on the intake part, but your not going to gain anything. ATS's ported housing also does not flow anymore air then a standard housing, the porting helps to stop turbo surge. |

Ok, thank you for all your info. Just thought it would lower the vacuum on the inlet side of the turbo.
