rear wheel bearing on an 01 F250

I got my hub off, and the seal and bearing are toast. I need to figure out what the steel ring is between the bearing and seal is cause it is broke and I cant see what the dam purpose of it is!

I think you are talking about the oil slinger ring. It is used to redirect oil into the bearing for lubrication.

went to the dealer and found out it was the oil slinger. thanks guys. $5.49+tax
