turbo shutter/slap
i have a 2000 ford f-350 auto 4x4 4-door in my shop with a 20"lift(yes twenty) 44" tires. Its all show no go. it has a edge juice w/ attitude chip. when i'm going down the highway and it shifts in between 2-3 the turbo starts to shutter/ slap. is this turbo slap/ shutter bad or normal due to the huge tires and the power needed to turn them? if so what can i do to stop this?
I did an air to air test on the intercooler and tightened found some booots leaking from the clamps. tightened clamps that were extremely loose and shutter seems to be less. truck only makes 20psi boost on level one of the chip. any help? |

..wicked wheel time..or ats housing sounds like..
it kind goes cha cha cha cha then goes away? if so one of the above should fix that issue |

yeah, youre getting some turbo surging. probably because of the size of the tires, lift and the load on the engine. sometimes this happens while pulling hills or other places. I would suggest an ATS housing and Wicked wheel(anti surge Wheel, X wheel) depending on the place you buy it from. the wheel will help it, but the housing will cure the issue.
got any pics? this truck sounds pretty cool, even though 20" of lift is not my cup of tea! LOL |
