How heavy is the trailer? I'd suggest call Jody at Dp Tuner he has a 60tow file that will load up the torque, keep egt's in check and make your truck get better fuel mileage.
The 40tow might be better if the load is over 10k though. Before chips you need GAUGES, an intake and at least a straight pipe though to be able to keep your foot in it going up the hills! |

Where you from?
Nevermind I read in another post you're from SC. Catch up with SEA71 or "shane" and maybe you can get some mods knocked out quick. Buy quality - do it once is my opinion. Last edited by Marty; 04-18-2007 at 01:15 PM. |

Jody at DP tuner or Tadd at Elite Diesel, Elite Diesel.* Welcome to the Elite
Both are two of the best. Get some gauges, pyro, boost and tranny. What year rig is it? |

LOL you don't need ANY chip for 8500lbs but it'll sure make the trip more fun!
I'll be grossing about 16,700k this weekend... you'll be good buddy! My truck COMPLETELY empty = 7140lbs Fuel = 230lbs People/cargo/extra fuel/tools = 800+lbs Trailer = 3000lbs Cummins Truck = 5500lbs (+tools/fuel so whatever that is) Last edited by Marty; 04-19-2007 at 01:34 PM. |

I received my chip fro Jody a few weeks ago and finally towed with it yesterday. I have the 60tow. My fifth wheel is 39' and weighs somewhere between 16-18000 depending on what is in it at the time. Personally the 60tow yanks the hell out of the truck going from 1st to 2nd so I kept it in 80econo. I live in Florida so it is all flat land. Taking off from a dead stop the egts would go up to about 1100-1200 if I nailed it. After going down the road the egts were 800, the turbo was about 8lbs and the tranny was 190. I was pulling it at 75mph with these numbers and the rpms were 1900. I probably would not use the 80e if I lived in the hills but it worked great for me on flat land!
