Question Turbo whistle

I understand that Ford changed the exhaust turbine after 1999 do to turbo whistle. Does the pre 2000 7.3 turbo whistle to the point where it is annoying? I was considering installing an earlier exhaust wheel on my 02. Also does removing the exhaust back pressure valve cause warmup problems in colder climates?

Thanks,

Dave C

Well I guess it can be annoying for some people and not others. I like mine the novelty hasn't wore off yet. If its not what you want you can always put your stock wheel back on. I took mine off,the ebpv, and it does take 5-10 minutes longer to come up to operating temps. I think the tradeoff is well worth it though.

Thanks for the reply. I guess if it whistles too loud, I could turn the radio up
