I sheared the output shaft on my transmission so i had it towed to the shop that rebuilt it. last night 4 trucks on their property got broken in to and one was stolen. they tried to steal my truck as well but luckily it wouldn't move since the output shaft was F'ed, but they sure did a number on my steering column and ignition. but that didn't stop them from ripping out my 7" indash dvd player, 10" drop down monitor, and my Edge Evo II. the stupid F k's didnt even get the cable for the Edge Evo... the cops found the one truck that they got away with and it was all intact/nothing stolen, just stuck in a ditch.
here are some pics
thanks, I guess i am lucky that the transmission was screwed so they couldnt go anywhere. I wish i could find the :tard: 's who did this and beat the crap out of them.
Sorry about your luck. Wish all the thieves would go away. I have hear too many brak ins and stolen trucks....... makes me want to sleep in mine and never let it out of my sight:tard:
Man sorry to hear I know how you feel, happened to me. They really did a number on the ignition. Atleast they unplugged you radio, the DA'S that took mine broke and cut all my wires including the rca's. Hope you get it all fixed and find out who it was.
probably not, they want me to use my insurance first and what ever my insurance doesn't cover they might cover the rest. I feel for the shop in this to as this is not good for their buisness or insurance rates.
Mine was broken into at work in the parking lot. they took my radio and a few other things in the truck. I hate them. I wish I could find the guy who did it. I bet I can unload my 40 faster then he can run! That reminds me, First thing after we get back, I am getting my CHL!
makes me wish my truck would fit in my garage. I live I country area, but you never know!
Can't be good for your INS. rates either... I wouldn't use mine!
That's some what true, I just cant see anyone winning in this situation though, although my truck is was in there parking lot it is still my truck, and it is still their place of buisness they have to deal with making it safe for customers to drop of their trucks and not worry about vandolism or theft and i have to deal with getting all this shiz replaced. I cant wait to find my Shiz posted up on Craigslist! I will happily buy it back... WITH LEAD SLUGS!
same crap happened to me in ft worth... guys jacked like 6 cars in the mall parking lot, im glad i have the no start setting on my truck or they might have tried to take it too...
now i keep my 100 pound blue pit in the back seat with the windows cracked.. she'll rip apart anyone that tries to get in there.
Sorry to hear about your truck. Lately I've read lots of post about ^$%^#$^n thieves.
I'd certainly call your insurance & let them direct you. You don't have to put in the claim just because you called. They may have some good ideas.
Good luck. I'm going to look into some sort of cut off switch/valve.
The shop has signs posted saying that they are not responsible for theft or damage to personal vehicles that are on their property:dunno: my insurance is going to cover it, minus my $500 dollar deductible. i am going to see if the shop will pay the deductible.
I am definitely getting an alarms system with train horns, and going to put a hidden switch in for the starter. I will be damned if this happens to me again.
That s**ks man, hope it all works out for you.
How do you think they got in with no door damage?Slim-jim,etc.?:dunno:
Or is it possible someone at the shop was in it and forgot to lock it back up?
Just a thought how they got in the first place so you may be able to put some pressure on them to pay for the damage.
The truck was locked, the two vehicles that they just jacked stuff out of had busted windows, the two trucks they tried to steal had no broken window.well they got the other one but mine wouldn't go no where:hehe: you can see where they stuck a screw driver in between the door and the cab and pried it back they f'ed up the rubber seal and scratched the door, guess so they could get something in there to push the unlock button.
That s**ks man, hope it all works out for you.

Unless the shop has a sign up stating or you signed a workorder stating that they are not responsible for any damage to the vehicle while it is in their possession, or on their lot, they are liable for any and all damage to your vehicle.
Just sayin. Most shops have "Not responsible for vehicles left on premises" signs all over the place.
