Hiccup at the track...
This past weekend I went up to the track and got "talked into" getting some times by F250Ghost. Anyhow, On my 3rd pass I did my burnout and it got going pretty good so I just "chopped" the throttle. (I wasn't looking to tear up the Mud Grapplers and I figured it was good enough) As it started to roll out of it a bit I noticed that the truck stalled. I was a little concerned because my truck has NEVER stalled on me, but I cranked it back up and made the pass and then ran once or twice more with no problems and no problems since. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen or if anyone has a "sound theory" on what happened. I have a theory, but don't know if it is plausible or not.
I'm thinking that it managed to get the tires spinning fast enough that it locked the converter RIGHT as I was getting off the throttle and since the tires probably started to hook right as I chopped the throttle that I "confused" the transmission(as in, it doesn't react as fast as I do and it will downshift right as I let of the gas or other similar things) and since I was almost stopped that the torque converter didn't unlock fast enough and it killed the motor. That is the most likely culprit I could come up with. If that is what happened, how bad is that on the motor? It can't be good, but I wasn't stepping on the throttle at all, so maybe not too bad? Let's hear some opinions from the more experienced type. Basically just the mods in my signature. No nitrous or anything of that nature.
