A friend in my office says that the oil pressure gauge Ford used in these trucks was nothing more that a signal sender that essentially makes the gauge an idiot light... supposedly if there is at least 5lbs of pressure, then the gauge in the dash reads in the middle of the band... has anyone heard this... is the gauge a "true pressure" gauge?
If it isn't I'm on my way to buy a replacement... I want to see a true pressure reading... Scott Last edited by ScottnID; 03-01-2010 at 09:09 AM. |

Yeah, that is pretty much the way it works. Same way with your engine/coolant temperature...

AWWW... that sucks... thats cheating... when I see gauges, I think gauges... not idiot lights with a poteniometer read out...

The coolant temp is fake? It seems to come up very slowly and coincide with heat at the vents. I understand OP being fake but the coolant seems to be more guage like.
I hate fake gauges
