dino oil to synth

I am thinking of switching to synth. oil at my next oil change but I was wondering if I have to drain the oil from the HPOP the first time or let the old dino oil mix with the synth. oil?? If the HPOP oil has to be drained, how is that done??

I wouldn't worry about draining the HPOP for the switch, it'll just blend in and eventually work all the way out the next or so oil change after the synthetic switch.

That small amount wont make any difference or harm anything IMO.
