R.I.P/ Fingers Crossed

Well folks....it finally happened. After all the hours and $ I put into the darn truck I lost control in the snow yesterday on the Tappan Zee bridge. Slammed into the guardrail. Entire front end is ****** and probably has some engine damage. Not expecting any insurance help for repair, its probably totaled.

Bummer!!!! At least I'm ok and so one else was even hit...

sorry to hear that. Glad you are ok.

bright side is that maybe if they total it, you can part it out and make some money. I would be interested in some things if you do (mirrors).

These trucks can be rebulit or bought, a life can't. Just remember that.

It may not actually be totaled.....hopefully insurance will just pay for the damage.

Heres my assesment.
1) Whole front clip is gone, hood, fenders, bumper....all need replacement.
2) There is some minor engine work. It was still running after the accident but making a clicking sound like the fan got pushed into the radiator....then started to overheat.
3) The steering rack need major adjustment and probably some new parts....one side wound up way out of camber and when I drove it off the bridge the wheel was upside down when I was driving straight.

I think I'll probably make out ok (knock on wood).....my only worry is that they assess the truck as an XL (which it is technically) and dont pay for the chrome bumper, grille, harley headlights, etc.

We shall see.....
