Tire pressure
Real quick question. My truck from orevious owner has 305/70/16's on it. Should I put the air pressure back to what factory recommends or not? I think this might be why im only getting 10.5 to 11mpg's. They are Firestone mud tr's. My truck I think says 50psi front and 70psi rear. I might have that backwards but I think im right.

ill say screw the mfg recomendation and run the tires at max or 10psi under max. (depending on the vehicle. the cars are max)
but you might get the center wear on the tread tho ![]() i always run all our cars and trucks at or near the max to get the max life from the tire. plus rides better. Last edited by Jarrod B; 02-23-2010 at 04:05 AM. |

If it helps..I'm running Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's at 4 lbs below tire max pressure. I travel a lot and seem to get real good milage and no unusual wear...they are and a half old at htis point.
