I have an 03 E350 with a 7.3. and want to put cruise in it. The dealer says Ford no longer makes an add on available. I called a salvage yard and the owner there was very concerned with the danger of adding cruise to a non cruise Ford diesel. He said he had done the add on three times and in each case the thing shorted or burnt out the computer. He said in all three cases the accelerators were stuck wide open when the shorting out happened. He seemed sincere in what he said. Anyone here have any information on this potential safety problem. Should I give up on adding cruise?
Thanks http://www.powerstrokeforum.com/foru...cons/icon7.gif |

Forgot to add that the salvage guy also said I could experience the same wide open accelerator with an after market unit He said the entire wiring harness must be changed. I had read that adding cruise was a simple plug and play install.
Thanks, http://www.powerstrokeforum.com/foru...cons/icon7.gif |

come to think of it, our 98 e350 15pass van had the gas petal connected to a deal that moved when the cruise was on. so it went down when it accelerated. the trucks have the electronic gas petals that don move at all when cruise is on. i wonder if thats where they think it will stick. |

I got a kit from these guys, for my 96 e250. I'm very happy with it.
