Bonehead move of the day

Well figured I would spray some simple green and clean and spray out the engine compartment today. So I didn't have any plastic bags so I took off my air filter and shoved a wad of rags in there. Well then I had to go to the store so everything had time to dry and I put air filter back on. Started truck and right away it was pukin black smoke and running rough first thought was I got a sensor wet. So I turned the truck off. Well then retarded me started it up again started doin the same thing and it ran for oh 15 seconds and almost died so I turned it off. Now I was pissed. Then I realized Oh S**t the paper rags I forgot to take them out so I pulled the filter off and the snorkle at the turbo and luckily it necks down before the turbo and there was the clump of rags with one little corner chewed up. Took that out runs like a dream.

This is the second time I've heard of someone doing this.

Glad it turned out good for you.

I did it with a Detroit Diesel 8V92 once and it sucked them through and spit them out the exhaust. No damage. God I love those engines
