Question Stock Garrett Turbo...?

Sorry for the nube question... but how can I tell if the Garrett turbo on my 99 is stock or if its been upgraded to a ball bearing model... this truck came to me with a 4" monster exhaust and it looks like the down tube might be larger than stock... there also a Allied Signal SS number label on the side of the turbo...

What can you guys tell me...?

S
