Oil bypass? Coolant filters? etc. for 7.3
I am a rookie just picked up my first diesel truck 00 250. I have been reading alot about oil bypass setups. Where do you get them and how much do they cost? Also same question for the coolant filters.
I am changing the oil this week and I am going to send a sample to blackstone to see whats up and see if the previous owner took care of the truck like he said. Truck has 120,000mi on it is it to late to invest in these setups? How many miles do you go on a oil change in these trucks? Thanks |

Best thing to do is send a few samples into black stone and let them tell you how long to run. I was changing at 3k and they kept telling me go longer. I went 4500 and they said its all good and go more. I still change at 4 to 5k depending on time. I run rotella t
Get a coolant filter from diesel site or build your own like I did DIY Coolant Filter – Here is how I did mine Flush the coolant and get a ELC ec-1 rated coolant in there too |

I run Rotella and change the oil at 5k. Unless I'm going on a long trip, greater then 5k, and then I run the synthetic Rotella so I don't have to changethe oil while out on the road.
