2002 F250 quick question

I was supposed to get an 2004 F250 but the dealer screwed up submitting financing...I not happy with the payment...I was looking around and found an 2002 F250 with 236k on it..from the photos the truck looks clean..I know the 7.3 is a long lasting engine but for around $14,000 I'm just curious if the engine still got some years on it? I would only average about 30 to 40k a year.. If the truck was taken care of with service would this be a good buy? I know people who have 300k plus on there 7.3l engines and never had one major problem with them.

Well thats what it is listed at..so I would offer more around 11.5 or $12k. I'm more curious about the miles more than anything...price is always negotiable

auto...And I'm not sure yet I havn't been to look at it. I will tomorrow. I'm going to be checking it out in detail. Its at a dealership so trying to get it to a diesel mechanic to have it looked at might be interesting...knowing that I won't be able to get a warrenty

wow thats more of a 9,0004 truck with those miles, figure 300,000in 2 years............more miles than i would commit too, having 200,000+ miles unanawered for. You can get 100,000 - 150,000 mile truckes for that price. These 7.3's might go 300,000 plus but thats with us fanatics carng for them with an obsession, 200,000 miles of who the hell knows what care"" is more of a gamble than i would take. Very good point on the tranny as well, look at it real good. Good luck
