Tie Rod end connecting sleeve
Well i had the truck on the hoist and checked for play and I found play where the tie rod end adjustment sleeve is. Where the long one goes into the sleeve it would move, back and fourth, not in and out of the sleeve. I tighter the brackets that secure the sleeve with and impact until the play stopped, feared I was going to break the bolt.
Priced out new now moog tie rod ends, $60for the small driver side $110 for the long pass side $20 for the sleeve from a local store. Has anyone seene this before? I'm guess I should replace them even though the play was lessened by snugging up the bolt? Thanks. |

I'm not sure why it would move inside that adjustment link? Like it was rotating in the threads? I replaced all my steering components but that link was the only thing I didn't replace. Unless the ball joints on the ends of the tie rods are loose or the threads on the adjustment end are damaged, I wouldn't see any reason to replace them.

NO it was moving like back and fourth, as in towards the front and then back of the truck... like it was loose in the link. Maybe it was aligned and they didn't tighten the clamp that is around it? ...
