Throttle Position Sensor testing

Does anybody have a good step by step process for testing the Throttle Position Sensor? Pictures and wire colors would help a lot too! I just spent an hour searching and couldn't find any good info, or at least anything that was detailed enough to figure out on my own! Thanks.

This is the best I found so far:
Ford Fuel Injection Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
I don't know whether to test at the "gas" pedal or in the engine bay...There are also multiple "TPS" and "SIG RTN" points listed, so I'm not even sure which side of the sensor/harness to test. I need a real basic step by step!
