sounds like you pinched or got the speaker wire caught and is making a connection to the dome light (black with blue tracer)

i spent quite a bit of time chaseing wires and couldn't find any noticeable problems,i did notice that the interior lites didn't turn off by the back door. w-d seemed to help that.but still cant find what could be turning the overhead lites on with the radio. they act as disco lights, flashing from dim to not so dim with the beat. i havent had the radio out since i put it in a long time ago. it would be odd that it would go bad the same time i changed the speakers.any ideas?

wooohooo i think i found the problem, not sure about what caused it, and would like to here from anyone who knows.but it seems that one of the rca cords to the amp. was the root of all the evil, i unpluged them and everything started working, well not the amp but cd player and the interior lights seem to be fixed.hopefully it has just been a worn out cord, ill replace it and with any luck i can go ahead with the new speaker project

My Mercedes had the same problem . The RCA cord , now that I think about it, was grounding to the body . So if you leaned against the car with no shoes on , you would get a tingling shock. Connected my multi- meter to the body and into the ground and it showed 9 volts , enough for a tingle.
