Is this turbo sound normal?
Getting my new to me 2000 f250 sorted out. I found a few leaks in the intercooler lines and stopped the leaks. Now, i hear a whistle/whine that goes up with the engine revs. It's pretty noticeable, from low throttle all the way to full throttle. The truck is stock with 145k miles. Is this normal or something to worry about. Truck seems to have more power with the leaks stopped, but haven't really taken it out for a real drive, just 5 minutes around the block.
Thanks for any ideas. |

The noise you are describing is a good thing. That is the sound the turbo makes when spooling and it mean its working and you are building boost. With boost leaks you would not have heard it since all your pressure would have been leaking out.
