tow mirror blues and accidents

i have tow mirrors on my truck and this morning i go out to my truck to go to work its kinda dark out i see all this crap laying on the road infront of my truck i thought what is all this crap then as i walk around i see my mirror arms are agianst my fender and there is no mirror left just the 2 arms some a$$hole thought it would be funny to rip off my mirror and keep on driving im just wondering if anyone else has had problems with people being so kind as to take off your mirror while parked on the road

A guy in an obs chevy with the long mirrors that stick out kind of far hit mine once. He came to the door with his mirror glass in his hand and said "sorry, I just hit your truck" Now I thought he meant actually HIT it, but I walked around it and said "where?" he said "I hit the mirror." I looked at it all around and couldn't see anything at all and said "well, looks like you got the bad end of this deal, but thanks for telling me."

Some people can be nice and actually tell you. Sucks for him cause he was in a company plumbing truck.

Sucks to hear about your truck, I dont know why some people are like that.

Depending on where I park, sometimes I will fold the mirrors down against the door just to minimize that from happening. There are always bozos out there.

I have been lucky so far, but driving a dually I know it is just a matter of time before some uninshured (I will stay politically correct here) individual with a boat load of kids will nail my rear fenders while opening thier car doors. It has happened with every vehicle I have ever owned no matter where I park.

My pass. side mirror fell victim to a leaning speedlimit sign the other day!!! I fixed the problem though. Just pulled the sign up layed it in the ditch. Went home, called our roads sup. and told him about it. Stealership wants $45.07 for a new one!!!

RockAuto Parts Catalog have all the different ones, just put a set on our old 7.3L shop truck for half of what the dealership wanted.

budha you got away lucky i have two pegs sticking out and thats all thats left all the plastic is gone and all the glass is gone when they hit it the arms were hitting my front fender

well i would do 08 mirrors but i dont have power mirrors nor do i feel like running wires for the turn signals etc i agree they look sweet i wish they wernt so boxy and square tho
