Question Newb with some questions! :)

Hey guys,
Wow, this forum is the best I've found for the wealth of information on Powerstrokes and beyond! A future thanks to all the info I'll be dredging up.

I don't own my baby yet, (still saving) but I am looking for a
01-03 F250 7.3L 4x4 Crew w/ short box. (preferably blue and from a dry climate)

So, whenever I find the magical combo of exactly what I want, I plan on saving extra to put in a built transmission before I start doing performance mods and upgrading the exterior aesthetics.

My roommate is my resident mechanical guru and he's a mopar guy, he's suggested to me a Goerend built tranny as the best of the best, but we don't quite know if Goerend does a built 4R100, but I've heard (around here and others) that he does Ford stuff occasionally on the side and I found an ad (on this site) for a sold 7.3L Ford Excursion that the guy said he had a Goerend 4R100 in it.

+Does anyone know if Goerend does a built 4R100 and if not, what are my other top-shelf built tranny options?

+Not up on the lingo either, and what is an "OBS" ?

+Any other immediate upgrades to stock parts that I should do after I buy it? More because they're probably worn out or nearly worn after 100K+miles that will probably be on the truck I end up with.

Sorry for the book, THANKS guys!

Welkcome to the org.! Sounds like you're looking for my truck except I wouldn't say it is from a dry climate?

Thanks alot guys! "OBS" wow. I feel a little dumb now

And Hank, YES! haha I've seen yours in your sig around on different threads, and actually showed it to my buddy as "This is what I want"

Throw some road armor bumpers on it and it is pretty much what I want mine to look like, maybe a little less lift

This is an odd question, but do you know what color code or name yours is? I've read around and Ford has several different blues, "Island Blue, "Blue Metallic" "Sapphire blue" and I haven't been able to pin down which one that is.

Thanks!

Mine is Island Blue. Kind of rare. At least in these parts.

Awesome, "Island Blue"
Yeah I haven't seen too many around here, mostly the blue/tan combo which I'm not a big fan of. and the "Sonic Blue" is TOO bright.

But hopefully it's out there, I live in Texas, so I figure I have a better chance finding it here than anywhere else!

And I was wrong about the lift, I glanced at it. I do want 6'', thought yours said 8.5 at first.

Beautiful trucks all over this .org
