I got hit!!!
Howdy fellas. Well I hope yalls day is going better than mine. I was drivig down the road today from my barracks and it's a 25 zone that I always go 25 down because there are MP's everywhere. There are crossroads that intersect that have stop signs, but the main road does not. Well right before I got to my stop sign to turn on the main drag there is one last crossroad that intersects. Long story short a govy (government owned vehicle with government plates) decides to skip the stop sign and hits the drivers side of my bed and dents in the first section and puts a huge deep scratch into the sidewall of my tire. The vehicle that hit me was a white 1500 chevy van. The female motor T driver that hit me said she didn't see my truck...and was laughing after she hit me! Everything got squared away because an MP had seen it happen on the main drag that I was heading too...and took all the information down and now I have to wait two weeks until the claim gets filed through the government insurance agency. This really sucks, and she wasn't worried because she knew she wouldn't have to pay a dime for the damages. The govy was messed up pretty badly and my truck is still driveable but it's still upsetting. Besides the tire, side of the bed, should I have the allignment done? I inspected everything thoroughly and didn't see anything else the matter...I will post pics of the damages. But wow...very upsetting first accident where I was driving... I have had enough venting sorry about the sporradic mentioning of this but I'm upset.

Very true it was minor and no one got hurt...she hit me fairly hard, probably getting on it in the corner because it is a govy and they don't pay to maintain then.

glad your ok though but if one of your tires is messed up or something you can make up a lie and say it isnt safe to drive or somethin, i heard if one tires messed up they will pay for 4 new tires you know what i mean?

nothing to change on the alignment really, just take off your tire and rotor and make sure the hub isnt bent, use a dial gauge, will takes you like 15min to do.

defiantly get the frame and alignment checked. My F150 was hit hard in a snow storm two years ago and it sounds like it hit about the same spot. My wheel was hit also and it blew out the tire. My girlfriend was driving it and said the truck was spun around. When I a got there I put the spare on thinking it was good to drive but when I drove it the steering wheel was off and wouldn't drive straight. The axle was bent and all the mounts needed to be replaced. While it sounds like your truck isn't as bad I would still have it checked out, get it fixed right the first time.
