Need advice on wastegate

I unhooked mine last week and it did make a dif. But what I need to know is will it hurt to leave it unhooked? I have no mods I have a 99.5 auto with 185000 miles on it I use the truck for work pulling a trailer and to pull our 5th wheel.

No it won't hurt anything. The best thing to do is get yourself a boost gauge to monitor your boost. If you have no other mods you have nothing to worry about as your pcm will defuel the engine once it gets to 25 psi if you ever get there which you probobly won't without a chip or tuner. The red line applies pressue to the wastegate actuator to open your wastegate. With it not hooked up it just takes longer to open so you can build your boost faster.

I would just add if you haven't already put the end of the red line over the bolt on the clamp for your intercoolers pipes. Just in case you want to use it again in the future the line won't be plugged up with gunk
