I have been looking at performance stuff and I was wondering whats the difference between the 1999 and 1999.5? whats up witht he 1/2 year they show different parts for them

bttt.. anyone know??? im trying to figure out what is the cut off date for it to be a 99 or 99.5

Ok the main difference in the engine from my understanding is the turbo. The turbos are diferent on the 1999 and the 1999.5 I know that for sure. Also you can tell the difference between the two very easily. The 1999 had a little square emblem on the front fenders near the front end. The 1999.5 had a rectangular emblem on the doors by the fenders down by the body molding. As for any other differences I really don't know.

They also changed the air intake on the 99.5's. And I think the HPOP's are different. I think the cutoff month was around 4/5 of 99.

ok thanks... the one I should have this Tuesday (if all goes well) has the badge at the front of the fender so its a early 99 then I guess

I believe the cut off was 12/08/98 for the early to late 99s, and the turbo, intake, and injectors were different, and I seem to recall something about the front suspension being different as well.

HPOP's are 15* in early 99's, and 17* in the 99.5+
The air intake was leaky in the early 99's and pulled air from the fender, and upgraded in 99.5 then pulled air from the front.
Injectors were slightly smaller in the early 99's
Turbo's were also smaller in the early 99's

Also wasn't the intercooler smaller also?

I don't think so Vital, I think they used the same intercooler.
