triton V8- 7.3 powerstroke conversion

What is involved in swapping a 2000 triton v8 with a 7.3 powerstroke?

Can you give me websites or prices? Im looking for a general ballpark

Im going to be finding a SD 7.3 psd with a 6 speed tranny and putting it in my buddies truck!

Any help is appreciated!

Okay guys that helps a lot! I can't get a SD truck for as cheap as the swap is, therefor it makes the swap worth it

well its in a f250 right? (the 5.4) so you obviously need motor(with EVERYTHING), wiring, PCM, fuel tank is probably smaller, most likely a different fuel pump, exhaust all the way down. thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

i wouldnt do it, seams like a sh!t ton of work. its not like you taking an electrical gas motor and dropping in a mechanical diesel, you would have to replace your whole electronic system with a new one. seems like a real pain man. but hey, at least you want to but a powerstroke in and not a cum apart.

but thats my .02, good luck if you do it.

..whats wrecked on the stroke..why would you not just swap cabs etc? what years the donor coming from? and why wouldnt it work, just have both trucks side by side and do a direct swap..now if it were me id find the same platform and just cab swap if thats whats needed..

well he'd buy a wrecked truck just for the engine... then part out the truck itself!

you can almost find a wrecked truck for less than an actual good engine lol
