E4OD vs 4R100

just found '99 f250 gasser cab and chassis in scrap yard. looking for a good tranny to have built on stand buy. called the ford house with VIN. they told me it was a E4OD (4R100). are these trannies the same. also have front end, tanny, transfer and drive shaft from a 94 f250 for sale. 147000 miles make offer.

the trannies are sort a the same, but not. from the impression i get is they are like the 700R4/4L60E. same tranny but one is electronic controlled, the other isnt. so im assuming the E40D is not computer cotrolled whereas the 4R100 is computer controlled (tcm)

I'm pretty sure the E4OD is also computer controlled.

the E4OD is for the 94 - 97 7.3L. the 4R100 is for the 99 - 03 7.3L. both computer controlled. i don't know if the bolt pattern is the same.
