Help... How to disarm factory alarm.

Hi,

I have a 2000 Excursion 7.3L and the truck will crank but it won't start.
I believe the factory security system that causes it (the led theft light blinking).
Could any body help me how to Reset (Overide) the system.

Thank you,

Joe.

I may be able to help you,I have a 99 Lariat w/ factory alarm too.
If your alarm was armed and somebody pulls on the door handles -it deactivates the truck from starting.
Don't know if yours is the same-but look under your dash right above the heat duct and fuel pedal and you will see a push-button switch about 1/8 " in diameter (black and hard to find!)
Hold the button in and do normal start sequence(glow plugs etc)and see if that works.
Sometimes mine will need same sequence done a couple of times before normal fire up.
That's why I leave mine disabled-it's more problems sometimes.
With mine if you watch the flash-a steady flash is armed-2flash-off-2-flash is disarmed.
Just something to try.
