turbo o-rings and seals

I am not having issues but am curious as to what seals are in the turbo's?
I know of the 2 pedestal o rings and the lower pedestal orings. What seals are in the turbo? What do they seal? Oil runs thru the turbo then back out, I assume? I know theres 2 sides to the turbo. One seal per side?
If they leak what happens? Wheres the oil go or not go?
thx

I think they seal the oil in the journal bearings and keep it from coming out of the intake or exhaust wheel.
