upshift rpm, yer 6 spd guys

what rpm do you usually upshift at driving around town?
what rpm do you usually cruise at driving around freeway?
do you take off with 1st gear (not granny 1st, the 1st on the shifter), or do you take off with 2nd? (2nd on the shifter)

i shift around 1.6k and the moment i shift out of 1st, i am almost done with 2nd... lol

i dont drive a standard but like dock said i would say when ever you feel it..... prolly when you feel like your starting to loose torque with out slammin the go pedal.... and isnt that how standards on diesel supposed to be shift alot.... get a heavy load goin

With no load...I start out in first, run it up to about 2200, then skip to 3rd, then I shift at around 2 from there on

Depends on my mood. 80% of the time I start in 2nd and shift in between 2000-2500. I also don't use the clutch 90% of the time(don't know if it is relevant).

any one with a six speed or a 5 speed.... man if i were you i would get stacks and a dp chip or something that smokes..... nothing is cooler to see then a psd with a standard and stacks just rollin smoke through every gear..... man i wish i had the money.... i would by an old psd with a standard just for that

I have a 99 F250 with a 6spd I shift between 2200-2400. my turbo seems to spool up around 1800 but I have a straight pipe going into 5in stacks. this helped my spool up by about 200/300 rpm's. cruising rpm before the 38's was 2100@70mph with 3.73 gears.What gear are you running?

Ooppss.. didnt say that. with 4:10's in OD im running 2350-2400 rpm at 70 on 265/75 r16's
