Testing ones 2nd alt if ya got one
I know my truck has two alternators, the top one was replaced just before I bought my truck. I have it in my head that the lower one is on it's way out and I was wondering how one could test it while in the truck without the upper messing with the testing.
Could I just disconnect the wire running from the positive battery terminal to the red post on the upper alt? Then just load test the truck's electrical system, or would that potentially fry my much newer upper alternator? Thanks |

Sorry not alot of help here either but, I do know that you shouldn't pull the battery positve. You are correct on really hard on electronic parts, it was ok on all the old cars without all the electronic blah blah blah
