low fuel light

how many miles can you go on the low fuel light? or how many gallons is left in the tank once it comes on?

IIRC, it's about 6 gallons...at least for me. I have a long bed, thus a 38 gallon tank. The tank took 32 gallons at fill up. The light had come on about 3 blocks from the station.

Depends on the truck.
I drove a 2000 F450 at work, I had 8 gallons in a 40 gallon tank left.
Now I drive a 1999 F450, light comes on with about 3-4 gallons left in 40g tank.
My 2002 F250 has about 2-3 gallons left when light comes on.

Wait till light comes on, then fill up ASAP to find out on your truck.

run it out with a full 5 gallon can in the back, then you'll know for sure.
