Difference in 7.3's?

What is the difference in the 7.3 liter in a 98 as compared to a 7.3 liter in an 01? Does anyone know?

01 is intercooled and has bigger injectors

block wise, are they the same? If I take the injectors out of the 01 and put them into the 98 and move all the bolt ons over, will it work????

i believe you would need the computer out of the 01 as well because the injectors are a little bigger, but i could be wrong. and also the HPOP is smaller, i believe it is a 15* while the 01 is a 17* and are you talking about an early 99 because there isnt a 98 model the 98 ones where considered 99's

The motor is coming out of a 98 Van. Thats where I got the 98 from.

no, i believe they have 98 vans, but i dont know if the 98 vans have the larger injectors or if the 98 vans have the single shots like the 97 OBS trucks

OK, so what does that mean for me and the swap to my 01. I think the engine in my 01 might be busted so when I figure it out, if it is shot then I Am going to try and put the engine out of the van into the truck! Possible or not possible? If so what all needs to be swapped from block to block to make it work????

well if you just swap everything you should be good as long as you take the computer from the van as well. but i dont think the van has an intercooler, and there are a few other diffrent things. sorry im not much help so ill just let a tech answer all your questions.
