Trans Temp Guage

Just installed one on my truck. It never registers on the guage. It always stays below 100 deg. I usually dont drive over 50 mi or so.... is that not enough to heat it up?

Depends on how cold it is, if it's in town or highway, load and driving style. I have about a 10mi commute and when it's 30-40° as it has been lately, I don't see any movement. You could also have a bad connection, probably ground.

I just made the same reply yesterday. Average trans temps are 70-90 above ambient, the lower while unloaded and the upper when towing heavy. Mine won't move again until spring. It also takes 20-30 min of driving to heat up almost 5 gallons of trans fluid. It will not hurt anything not to let it warm up all the way.
