Talking Mercon5 Trans Fluid

Has anyone changed to Mercon5 trans fluid?????? Ford changed over to this this year and took mer1 off the market. It's suppose to run cooler and should at $4.00 plus per quart. If this works then it long in coming. Anyone out there have any feedback. Signing off - Barnyard from Laurel, Montana

It shouldnt

make a diff. We are still running reg mercon cuz they are still sending it to us. I will probably go with a synthetic after I get my trans built. That is if I still have my truck.

They aparently reformulated Mercon 5 to work where Mercon is required. Beforehand, I believe the Mercon 5 was not compatible or something. Might've never been true anyway.
