Keyless entry standard?
I bought a 2001 F350 XLT and I'm not sure if its supposed to have keyless entry or not. I have searched a lot and it looks like Rangers, Expeditions, F150s, etc. got it standard with the XLT group, but mine didn't come with a remote and I don't want to order one if its not equipped. Is it standard or is there a way to tell?
Thanks! Dan |

Do you have the keypad on the door? If so, chances are it has keyless entry. Your local dealer can get new remote and program it for you for around $100.

When I bought my truck I didn't know if mine had it or not. I turned the key to on off possition till locks cycled. Then went and got a fob off ebay for like 12 bucks and just programed it to my truck with same process. works like a charms and was cheap.

I also purchased remote from ebay. 8 bucks. It came with detailed instructions. First try, about 15sec. Ford dealership wanted over a hundred bucks. Typical

Thanks guys I will try cycling the key 8 times tomorrow, but the remote programming instructions made it sound like the locks wouldn't cycle until you cycled the key and then pushed a button on the remote. I will try it anyway.
