front rotors size info??

I have been contemplating the drw to srw conversion. Anyway, i got some good advice recently on whats needed.
My question is when did trucks come with the 14 rotors in front. My wifes 99 had 13 inch.(early 99) I checked local parts stores for late 99, early 99, and all thru 04.Allof which had the option of 13's or 14's. The guy on this site said he put srw on the front of a dually truck and it would not fit was hitting the brakes.
He tried with a 16 inch rim. I have to assume he had the 14 inch rotors. The rotors for a srw and a drw have the same part numbers. (early 99's being different) But even they have the srw to drw numbers the same.
What trucks got 14 inch rotors and why? What did they get for rims?
