Speed sensor on the rear axle on top of the pumpkin.

Thats where I would start looking. Might make sure its connected or change it out.

if you unplug it(bad connections), I think the speedo would still work but the abs light would be on.I tried unplugging the abs on my excursion to diagnose brake issues. I had the light but speedo still worked.
When i unplugged the fuse i had the abs light on and no speedo? maybe this will help diagnose |

What are you using to scan for codes? If the OD light is on there is a stored powertrain code. Most common is the VSS, but I would have the code read first.

I would change the sensor on top of the pumpkin. Not expensive. Easy to do. Had the same "type" of issue and the sensor resolved it.
Good luck. |

the od light doesnt stay on, just flashes after driven a while. no bad fuses as well, i checked all of those. weird part is that after a while of driving or idling everything will come back to normal until the vehicle is shut off. then it starts all over again

If the light came on, even for a few seconds there is a stored code that will remain in the puter until the codes are cleared. You have to use the right scan tool, our trucks are not OBDII compliant so the free scans at Auto Zone ain't going to read it. If you live close to me I will scan it for you.
