if you remove it dont you have to weld the holes closed after removing it? meaning i thought after the middle thick pin is straight up and up and down removed out aint there two holes top and bottom that need to be sealed? id rather just keep it open if its easier. sorry no pics....I drilled out the 2 riviots holding the shaft and the flap together. Smacked the end of the shaft until it drove out the freeze plug on the other end. Then drove the shaft out. I took the housing to parts store, found a freeze plug that fit the empty hole. Drove it in the hole, reinstalled the EBPV housing.

I had the turbo off the truck at the time, but the EBPV can be removed without pulling the turbo. I also gutted the pedistol while I had everything apart.
The later SD 7.3 turbos are alot easier to pull than the turbos on the OBS trucks! |

To bad you dont have pics of doing all this. I have to take my turbo back off next week and would probably do this stuff.

I'll look, I may have another EBPV laying around, I could take some pics of, I'l have to look for it. You can always unplug it. It normally open anyway.
