Welp.....broke (destroyed) my tailgate with the gooseneck.

Wondering.....are the 08 tailgates a DIRECT bolt on to an early 99?

Also, almost died laughing when the dealer aka "stealer" told me a new 08 tailgate would be like $2500.00.

Wow....anyway I can get them used for much less and was thinkin bout it.

Just want to know if it is bolt on.

Yes, it will bolt right on. You can usually find new white 08 gates on craigslist for @ $300

Just need to swap the DS hinge pin (which is less than 10 bux.) Craigslist, kijiji, etc are good places to look. I found a take-off '08 tailgate for a buddy for $200
