Well I have always said. I will always use dino oil until they stop making it. Well today I turned myself into a liar. I got my oil changed today and I went with Rotella 5w40 synthetic.

Seems to make my truck run a little smoother. My truck has 200,000+ miles on it. I have always used Rotella 15w40. But this winter it has already gotten down into the negative numbers on the thermometer. So I decided to give 5w40 a try.

I will see how it works out for me this week.

Cummins would be possible. But I have to wait til the 7.3L blows up.

i thought the same thing, i think im gonna try 5w40 this winter too, if your already noticing it running smoother, then why not. anyone hear bad things about running it in summer time?

ive run rotella for the two years i have owned my powerstroke. summer and winter. never had a problem but ive also never tried anything else

I too thought the worst!!! But really as cold as it gets by you I would have switched to the 5w 40 a long time ago, at least for winter use.
