Newbie questions

I think this is the place to put this thread.....if not a mod can please direct me to the right spot.
I am in the market for a 99+ 7.3l SD.....I've found a few that I'm going to be looking at early next week. My question is what are the huge things I should be looking for?
Are the frames weak in any spots? if I'm buying in a high rust risk area, is there any frame rusting I should be worried about? or are the frames pretty stout against surface rust?
I know the general getting an idea for recent maintenance and history. I'm just looking for this generation SD specific things I should look for.

Thanks!
Ryan
