How far can you go.......

before you need to rebuild a 4r100 transmission to a higher performance level due to engine or tuner mods?

Truck is a 2000 7.3 with just over 100K and totally stock.

I would like to at least do a turbo back 4" exhaust, new turbo wheel, and possibly a DP tuner. The concern obviously comes into play with the tuner in place. I am NOT looking for a drag truck, but for sure would like the truck to get out of its own way. I also would not like my trans to grenade and cost me $4K.

Having good tunes doesn't mean the trans is on it's way out. It all depends how you mash on the skinny pedal once you get those tunes. I am going on 50K with DP tunes and supporting mods, key word supporting mods, and my trans is just fine, but I don't drive it like I stole it either!!! No crystal balls sometimes you have to pay to play, or sometimes you just have to pay!!!!!
