Question Cab Running Light Mod

Hey 99ers... I've been looking at various articles about adding cab running lights to my 99. Looks pretty straight forward ~ a pillars pull right off ~ but what about the front drop on the head liner... is a special clip tool needed to release the front edge of the HL or does it just "puull-wiggle" off...

THANKS!

It should just have normal clips and wiggle slide off.... It depends on where the clips are I believe if you have overhead electronics or not.... Im not 100% sure on difference but it should just slide out with a little careful manuevering

When I installed mine I don't remember any clips at all Its been a while though. I don't have anything electronic over head. Be care bending the headliner it will crease easy. Just measure measure measure.

You can plug the harness into the factory location in the passenger side kick panel and you can use your headlight switch to turn them on and off

Thanks Guys! I just envisioned pulling the HL down and leaving the clips in the body ~ don't want to go there! Didn't know about the passenger side harness plug ~ THANKS!

I am 99% sure the headliner has a rigid back, when you take the a pillars out and the sun visors, it should come down, but i dont think you will be able to just roll it back. You might have to take it out completely, or try to work around it without bending it.

If you have an overhead console you just pull it down.. It's got clips and it sounds like you're about to break it off. haha. But the headliner itself is simple. You just have to take out the screws for the visors, etc and it's done. I just let it hang and worked around it. (wasn't bad especially if you already have your wiring done) Hope this may have helped?
