what controls the shift points and firmness on an automatic?

Valvebody controls firmness Changing the VB to a tuned VB will lengthen the life of your trans by shortening these shifts.

so there's no way to change the shift points without a reprogram or new valvebody? i'm not really looking for a firmer shift, just would like it to shift more early. seems like i'm always pulling back on the throttle a little so it'll shift, other wise when driving normal it shift at 2500 and i try to keep it below 2000

Just call matt at Gearhead automotive and get a good custom tuned chip from him. Back when I had an auto i loved his shift points
