Ball Joint Life / Interesting Idea
What do ya'll get for life out of your ball joints? I have 30,000 miles on this set, and their already shot, and the truck is completely stock.
I am thinking hard about finding a Dana 60 of of like 86 F-250. I like the idea of serviceable wheel bearings, and King Pin's instead of ball joints. Have any of you done this conversion, or heard of it being done in our year? Any input would be awesome. |

If you don't want to EVER mess with the ball joints again... Pick these up.. They are great... Plus you can rebuild them without pressing them out of the knuckles...

i would definetly buy those dynatracs for my next set. i just put some in and believe it or not mine were installed improperly(the old ones). how? the top caster camber bushing in the top was to long not letting the bottom ball joint seat in. probably what did them in.i'm assuming the alinment shop done this. i put this set in my self.

The Moog will last as long as you do your part and lube them. I have heard of many that have drilled and tapped the factory BJ's for zerk fittings and they lasted just fine. That is why the factory ones fail, they have no way to be lubed, and these things are supporting some serious weight!!

My brothers 03 has 256,000 miles and his ball joints are still good. and thats with 35s too.

I like the idea of those Dynatrac Ball Joints. The whole rebuild in the truck is nice since an axle seal is like $35.00 not to mention it can be a pain in the *** to get that hub off. The next step would be to get this Dynatrac Free Spin, but I can't see parting with $2,000. right now
