OK guys lets see what you know. Good and bad. I have broke 3 trans and working on my 4th. The truck only has 65k on it and the first trans crashed at 29k in bone stock truck. So now I'm looking for a tranny that will not flop in one year or 10k. These are the tranny guys I have herd of tell me if you know of others or what you think of these. ATS, BTS, John Wood, SunCoast OR Monster Box? Any help you can give on this would be greatly appreciated.

I dont think you are the only one that has had that problem. In the past, one of the problems with Fords transmissions is that the fluid pressure drops dramatically during shift points. During shift points is when you want to keep your fluid pressure constant. If you dont find anybody that knows what they are doing, I'm sure any of the performance transmissions will help. ATS seems to be pretty popular for Diesel Trannsmissions. |

Thanks for the reply to my post. I have been checking them out but don't feel good about the cost $5k. Thats just a bunch of bull if you ask me. But I'm not sure I have a chioce but to pay what they want. It's that or sell the truck. The problem is I haul a 32' fith wheel around 16000lbs and I hate taking a hill at less then 60-65mph. I guess it's my 10 pound left foot. Well I guess you gota pay to play. Tahnks again for your thoughts.

Funny you should ask. I am about 13' and yes I do watch the overerpasses. Even more dangerous are the tree limbs. I drive truck so I am used to watching for things. No problem It's fine even with a trailer this tall. I haven't seen anywhere of the type of places I go that don't have a min14' clearence. Like they say if your not living on the edge your taking up to much space. ![]() Oh ya the trailer sat very high before but I did do a springover on the trailer and now it sit's at 30+" to the bottom of the frame. It's just as stable as ever and seems to pull the same at around 60-65mph. Last edited by ROADKILL : 09-11-2005 at 11:26 AM. |

The lucas oil diesel dragster runs an ats tranny in it and they say on their website during the buildup that it held without slipping at launches up to 35 psi. I'd say ats is the best, that's why they command that price. They know their stuff!
